International Awareness Week - April 2004
See photos from past International Awareness Week celebrations. The International Festival is held each spring in early April and offers international food and live entertainment to explore the many countries represented by Clemson University students, scholars, and community members. Everyone is invited to come out, eat lunch, and join in the fun. Attendance is free, and food is sold very inexpensively via tickets. Clemson students offer up samples of typical dishes from their home countries. One can visit the many food tables and create a meal for themselves like they would never be able to do at home or in any restaurant! In addition, some tables offer other exotic items for sale or display from their homelands such items as jewelry, ornaments, and fabrics. This is the cameo event for the overall International Awareness Week and not to be missed! It is always held rain or shine. The Festival stage offers a wonderful selection of music and dance as well as the International Fashion Show that features women's, men's, and children's attire from all over the world. Special children's activities are held throughout the afternoon in the "Children's Area." This is an afternoon for all ages, interests, and tastes. Hope to see you there next year! |
